DARRELL Hair has rejected an offer by the England and Wales Cricket Board to be on its reserve umpires list for the coming season. The former member of the International Cricket Council Elite Panel, has been under intense scrutiny since last summer's abandoned Test match between England and Pakistan at The Oval and was banned from officiating matches involving Test-playing nations in November. But the ECB, which has had the Australian on the reserve list on two previous occasions, did not hesitate to offer him a position for the 2007-08 season. An ECB statement said: "The England and Wales Cricket Board has been informed by Darrell Hair that he is unable to accept their offer to be a member of the ECB reserve umpires list for the forthcoming season.
