| Hair today, gone tomorrow all for ‘Locks of Love’
Her 14 inch long crown of Glory was her joy and delight, but when the 12-year-old read in one of her mum's magazines about the work of Locks of Love an American charity that supports children and teenagers suffering severe hair loss, Elizabeth made a decisive decision to sacrifice most of her hair to bless others. The soon to be teenager who became a Christian in 1999 and attends the Leek Christian Fellowship in Leek, Staffordshire, with her mum Pauline, wanted to do something to make a positive and real difference in the lives of young people after reading a short report of another young girl who had her hair cut for the charity. Locks of Love distributes free hair prosthesis (hairpiece) made from donations of real hair to under privilege children and teenagers, Elizabeth says that when she read the report a light bulb went off in my head. For her parents Paul and Pauline they thought it was just a pre-teen good idea that would go away but Elizabeth's light bulb couldn't be switched off and so after months of persuasion (pester power) they agreed that it would be an incredible thing to do for somebody. .
